160 Meter Dipole & Sloper Antennas
160m or Top band, as it is affectionately called by it's fanatical aficionado's provides exciting DX opportunities during the night time thanks to F2 layer skip and ducting. Well equipped stations are limited in the daytime to 1500km at most.
Because of the extensive space requirements needed to field a proper 160 meter antenna - this band is often one of the last bands a growing amateur installation makes coverage provisions for. We're pleased to offer two "starter" antennas meant to get you experiencing the thrill of the hunt on Top band sooner rather than later. The first is a shortened 68' foot sloper that needs to be hung from 40-45 feet. The other is a Half-Wave Dipole kit. The former has some directivity towards the direction of the slope, while the latter can be an effective antenna for working DX even at modest heights of 35 feet or higher in an inverted-V configuraton.
